White Dress

Diane von Furstenberg dress, Episode belt, Cubus sunglassesDiane von Furstenberg dress, Cubus sunglasses, Episode belt

I got this vintage Diane von Furstenberg dress a while back, and it was too long so I had to hem it (which also took another two weeks before I got to, haha) I am thinking about cutting off the sleeves, but I can’t decide. What to do?

Yellow in the Sunset

Topshop sunglasses, Abercrombie & Fitch top, Zara pants, Zara heels

They say a picture says more than a thousand words. Imagine what 24 pictures per second can say!

Making fashion films is a lot of fun but it’s also a LOT of work to edit and process. So I want to try something new: Fashion Quick Flicks. Just a short clip in addition to the photos, so you get an extra perspective on the look and feel of the items. (video below)

Let me know what you think! If you guys feel it’s an added value to the post I’ll try to add a video once a week. If you want to see more videos we made make sure to check out the video category.

Topshop sunglasses (similars from Asos)
Abercrombie & Fitch top (similar from Abercrombie)

Saturday Outfit

Gant shirt, Episode skirt and belt, Zara heels

When I bought these Zara sandals I was so unsure whether to go for the black ones or these. I ended up with these since I have so many black heels already, and I felt like these were more appropriate for spring. They are actually not bad to walk in either! Always a plus when heels are comfortable I think.
Wearing:
Gant shirt (similar one from Zara)
Episode butterfly belt
Episode pleated skirt

Etsy Shopping Guide

Cable knit sweater, chandelier earrings, silk blouse, leather loafers, gold lion belt, white quilted bag, leather shorts

I figured I would do a little guide about vintage shopping on Etsy. It is an ocean of items out there these days, but it is difficult to find items that have good quality.

  1. Know what you want so the search is as limited as possible. (i.e “red silk shirt”)
  2. Always search for good quality items. That being leather, silk, linen, wool etc. With vintage items, it is very important with good quality so it wont be ruined after one wear.
  3. Buy from trusted sellers. Check out their feedback from other buyers.
  4. Does it seem too good to be true? It most likely is. Just because the seller says it is authentic, does’nt mean it is. Do some research.
  5. Try and go for classic items when it comes to vintage.
  6. Always check the measurements of the garments you want. Sizing was different back in the day.
  7. Does the item need to be repaired? Don’t buy it. You will most likely never get it fixed.
  8. Buy the right size for you. Never buy stuff you have to lose weight to be able to wear.
  9. Remember that it’s called vintage for a reason. It is old. Don’t think that it will last as long as a new garment.
  10. And last but not least; Be patient!! Finding that one great item takes time.

Pictured: Cable knit, Chandelier earrings, Silk blouse, Leather loafers, Gold belt, Quilted bag and Leather shorts. All items can be found on Etsy.

HAPPY HUNTING! (If you still have some questions, don’t hesitate to ask me)

Fashion highlights 2011

Fashion highlights of 2011

In the beginning of 2011 most of us bought the very hyped Zara heels. Some of us combined them with a bag made of colorful plastic, or one of the famous Cambridge Satchels, or the Zara leather sleeved coat. The Isabel Marant Dicker boot became a trend in February and so did the platform Prada’s. I just could’nt decide whether I was happy or not that the platform shoe was back.

Then Kanye West showed up at Coachella with a womens shirt from Celine, and it got plenty of attention from everybody in the fashion world. Some of you might have been there to witness it all, and maybe you had a pair of round sunglasses on?
